WWE fans in India are due to get some new programming in the coming weeks.
The company’s WWE India social media has revealed that the ‘Superstar Spectacle’ is coming soon.
This would seem to coincide with the launch of NXT India which was reported last month.
Mike Johnson of Pro Wrestling Insider is reporting that the special is likely to air before the end of the month, and feature a number of WWE’s Indian stars.
Local advertising on Sony lists the Spectacle airing on Tuesday 1/26 on Sony with all the advertising built around WWE’s Indian stars, including Jinder Mahal, NXT recruit Kavita Devi and tag teams Indus Sher and The Bollywood Boys. 1/26 is a national holiday, Indian Republic Day. The belief is the special would be taped at the WWE Performance Center and would likely air Stateside on the WWE Network.
It would certainly be a logical expansion for WWE and NXT, although they will need a quick turnaround if the content has not yet been filmed.
