The list of moves banned by WWE does occasionally change, and it seems to have recently had an addition made to it.
According to PW Insider, the “buckle bomb”, a powerbomb into the turnbuckle, has now been blocked by WWE executives.
This comes after the move was attributed to the retirement of Sting after he took the move from Seth Rollins, and Kairi Sane recently avoided injury after the move was hit by Nia Jax.
That is not to say there was necessarily a mistake by the wrestler hitting the move, but seems more related to the overall dangerous nature of the move and the whiplash effect it can cause.
Whilst the bucklebomb takes its place next to the practically-banned piledriver, there is a chance it will return in the future as has happened with the double stomp and shooting star press.
