The ‘SmackDown Before Mania’ has become a big deal this year, featuring plenty of action which will likely have an impact on what happens this weekend.
The Dirty Dawgs had to put their WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships on the line in a four-corners match against Rey & Dominik Mysterio, The Street Profits, and Chad Gable and Otis.
There wasn’t even a chance for introductions, as Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler attacked The Street Profits backstage, and all four teams brawled to the ring.
As you would expect the match broke down, and it eventually came down to Chad Gable and Angelo Dawkins in the ring.
Gable managed to hit the roll-through German suplex on Dawkins, but whilst in the corner his Street Profit partner Montez Ford had managed to get the tag.
Ford hit the frogsplash on Gable, but before he could make the cover Roode got the tag, and after Ziggler took out Ford with a superkick Roode stole the pin for The Dirty Dawgs to retain their titles.
No word yet on whether a match for the blue brand’s tag straps will be added to WrestleMania 37 at this stage, but a match against The Street Profits would certainly seem likely off the back of tonight’s result.
