WWE executive and one of the most decorated champions in company history Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque tonight took part in a media conferene call to promote Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day.
Amongst a raft of questions, the godfather of NXT was asked his opinion on having an excess of belts in a wrestling company.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Twitter that the former WWE, Undisputed, Intercontinental, European, Tag Team and World Heavyweight Champion is not a fan of having too many different belts in one company.
Could HHH’s comments be directed at the main roster with its multitude of titles? Or could it be a subtle nod to AEW and their ever growing catalogue of title belts appearing on their programme, both theirs and from other companies?
Three titles will be defended on TakeOver on Sunday as Finn Balor faces Pete Dunne to defend the NXT Championship, Johnny Gargano puts the North American title on the line against KUSHIDA and Io Shirai faces Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez with her NXT Women’s Championship up for grabs.
