Thatcher Vs Ciampa Seemingly Removed From NXT New Year’s Evil

It would seem NXT New Year’s Evil is down to a four match card at this moment in time, as one big match has been removed from the show’s advertising.

This will be one of the highest profile cases of “card subject to change” in some time.

It would seem Tommaso Ciampa vs Timothy Thatcher has been removed from tonight’s NXT New Year’s Evil show.

The match was set to take place inside the Fight Pit, but now looks like it won’t take place at all.

All references to the match have been removed from WWE’s social media, and the latest Tweet from WWE On Fox doesn’t list the match.

At this stage there is no word on why the match has been removed or if it will be replaced.

However, NXT backstage reporter McKenzie Mitchell has referenced a meeting with NXT medical personnel, which could be the start of an official announcement.

With that match removed, the card for tonight currently looks like:

  • NXT Championship Match: Finn Balor vs’ Kyle O’Reilly
  • NXT Cruiserweight Championship Match: Santos Escobar vs. Gran Metalik
  • Last Woman Standing Match: Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Gonzalez
  • Damian Priest vs. Karrion Kross
