Report: Wade Barrett In Discussions For Full Time WWE Role

Reports have suggested that Wade Barrett’s one night return to WWE for NXT last week could be a more permanent arrangement. Could we be seeing some more Bad News behind the commentary desk soon?

Wade Barrett On Commentary

Last week, the surprising news broke that Wade Barrett (Stu Bennett) would be replacing Mauro Ranallo in the commentary on last week’s edition of NXT.

After rave reviews for his work, PWInsider are reporting that Barrett and WWE are in discussions on a more permanent relationship.

Since leaving WWE in April 2016, Barrett has stayed away from in ring action, working as a commentator for WOS Wrestling and the NWA and it seems a return to WWE could be on the cards.

With the news breaking today that Mauro Ranallo has left WWE, it is clear that there is a position for Wade Barrett to walk into and make his own.

According to the report, the interest has been in place for some time so it seems if there is strategy in place for his return, it’s not being drawn up on the fly.
