According to a report on the Wrestling Observer website, an ‘all hands’ conference call has been called tomorrow by WWE for all personnel connected to the NXT UK brand.
This conference call is expected to be followed by a public announcement the same day.
It has been a turbulent few months for the brand. They have been unable to run shows since February due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and were forced to call off the first NXT UK TakeOver to be held in Dublin in April.
Just last week, two of the most prominent faces on the brand, Ligero and Travis Banks, were released as a result of allegations made as part of the #SpeakingOut movement.
Conflicting reports have been posted this weekend about the brand’s future. Some sources claim the brand seen as a loss-maker is on borrowed time due to the recent troubles and need for WWE to cut costs. Other reports say the future of the brand is secure and tapings will begin again within 2 months.
Whatever the future may hold, it seems we will know more on Wednesday 29th June.
