One of the big matches on last night’s AEW Dynamite was the Championship Eliminator contest between Orange Cassidy and Pac.
The match was to determine who would go on to face ‘The Cleaner’ Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing.
Whilst the result got them to the triple-threat match they planned, it would seem it didn’t happen the way it was originally set out.
As reported by PWInsider, the match was originally scheduled to be a 20-minute time limit draw, before Cassidy sustained an injury following a sunset flip powerbomb to the outside.
When Cassidy went down hurt after the sunset flip powerbomb to the floor, he still kept trying to get up to return to the ring and finish the match. An audible was called to have Cassidy stay down and to ring the bell.
This led to Omega running to the ring and attacking Pac, causing a double count out which spun in to the match for Double Or Nothing being confirmed as a triple-threat match.
It is believed Cassidy was doing alright backstage afterwards, so there is no reason to believe that the match will change in the coming weeks.
