AEW’s next PPV ‘Revolution’ was set to take place 27th February.
However, Dave Meltzer mentioned in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the new possible dates could be either 6th or 7th March.
This would mean that the show would be pushed back by one week and it may even take place on a Sunday which would be a change from the company’s usual Saturday night PPV’s.
Last night AEW announced their first match for the show which features Wrestling Icon Sting teaming up with TNT Champion Darby Allin to take on Brian Cage and Ricky Starks of Team Taz in a street fight.
It is important to note that there is no date on this promotion.
This will be the debut match of Sting in AEW and they have definitely made it a big one!
Younger fans of AEW might be aware of the likes of Allin and Cage but may not be familiar with the work of Sting.
This can also be looked at the other way, with casual wrestling fans knowing about Sting but not familiar with the work of the others. Using Sting in a position like this has the possibility to bring new eyes to the AEW brand.
