With wrestlers returning in WWE, AEW and Impact Wrestling, you could be forgiven for missing Ring Of Honor out the mix.
Rumours have circulated that ROH won’t be signing any talent, either current or new, to contracts until the pandemic is over and they are back to their usual schedule, although there is optimism from two former stars that they will be able to return.
Mike and Maria Kanellis joined the ROH Strong podcast recently, and discussed the possibility of a return to the organisation. Mike in particular spoke about his knowledge of the company from the past.
I would absolutely love to, I’m not going to sugarcoat anything. I would love to. I know the roster, I know how good it is. I’ve worked for the company before. I’m not pretending I’m going one place and this and that. I love Ring of Honor. I would love to end up there.
Mike Kanellis is a former ROH Tag Team Champion with Matt Taven, who he also teamed with to win the IWGP Tag Championships in Japan.
Maria also spoke fondly about the possibility of a return to ROH, seeing it as a chance to be creative once their live shows restart.
I see a tremendous opportunity with Ring of Honor. Not just with the incredibly talented group of individuals that are working there right now, but also in the opportunity to do shows different. Because they haven’t done a show in a very long time I think that there’s an opportunity to be incredibly creative and create something that is different, but still with the great wrestling that the Ring of Honor fans have come to watch and love over the years.
