Despite WWE releasing a raft of wrestlers in mid-April, the wrestlers let go are still technically under contract until their 90-day no-compete clauses with the company expire later this month.
PWInsider are reporting that one of those released stars. Heath Slater will be appearing tonight on Monday Night Raw.
As he is under contract, WWE would be entitled to ask him to appear on the show. Naturally this will lead to speculation of a more permanent return.
Slater maintains a strong cult following and will likely have been the subject of significant interest as a free agent.
Impact Wrestling have already teased his appearance at Slammiversary, with Rhino stating that he has a tag partner lined up who “has kids”.
Slater himself has today released a video stating to “watch the hell out” on 18th July, the date of Slammiversary.
Although this is no confirmation of his appearance at Slammiversary, the report says Slater was well liked within WWE, leaving him open to a more formal return after tonight should he and WWE management feel that is something they wish to pursue.
