On last night’s edition of NXT, Mandy Rose made a brief and unexpected return to the brand.
During the match between Sarray and Gigi Dolan, Rose made her way on to the stage seemingly to get a closer look at the competitors in the match. Whilst both women in the ring acknowledged her presence, they ultimately completed the match and Sarray emerged victorious.
Rose has been featured on the Raw brand for the last year. She has most recently been seen in a tag team with Dana Brooke, feuding (Of a fashion) with the Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina.
Rose was last seen on NXT in late 2017 before her call up to the SmackDown brand alongside Sonya Deville.
Whilst it is perhaps a lazy comparison given their physical similarities, Rose seemed to be playing a ‘scouting’ role similar to the way Trish Stratus debuted in WWE way back in 2000 that ultimately led her to being aligned with Test and Albert to form the T & A faction.
Various social media posts from Rose and other WWE personnel after the show suggest that the move back to NXT is a permanent one rather than a one off deal.
