Kevin Owens has suggested that he will be taking a brief break from WWE. This follows his defeat to long-time rival Sami Zayn at last night’s WWE Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View (match results). This afternoon, Owens tweeted the following:
The Quebec natives endured a gruelling battle on Sunday evening. Owens suffered from an injured throat throughout the match, the damage inflicted on Friday Night Smackdown by Commander Azeez. An incapacitated arm only added to the uphill challenge Owens faced against his former friend. Despite hitting a Stunner on the outside, K.O. was unable to capitalise. He was eventually pinned at the hands of a bloodied Sami Zayn after a Helluva Kick.
The former Universal Champion has been a prominent figure on WWE television during the COVID-19 pandemic, starring in feuds with the likes of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. There are currently no further details available regarding the Smackdown Superstar’s absence – it is unknown whether he is scheduled to feature at the upcoming Money in the Bank or SummerSlam Pay-Per-Views. Nonetheless, Owens will enjoy a richly deserved break with his family before WWE heads back on the road this summer.
