In last night’s NXT TakeOver XXX main event, Karrion Kross defeated Keith Lee to become the next NXT Champion.
In the process of the match, Kross suffered what has been confirmed as separated shoulder.
WWE COO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque informed the media that Kross will undergo an MRI as soon as possible to determine the severity of the damage.
The nature of the injury means that predicting a timeline for recovery is impossible until the severity of the separation is confirmed. Past examples in wrestlers and athletes range from just four weeks (Rey Mysterio in June/July 2019) through to eight months.
Either way, the timing is unfortunate for Kross, who ended Lee’s NXT Championship reign after just 52 days, the second shortest in history.
