PROGRESS Wrestling have crowned their new Women’s Champion, after Kanji defeated Gisele Shaw in the final of their best of three series.

The match took place at Chapter 111: One Leg In The Air, with both competitors going in to the match with a win each.

The series came about after Jinny was forced to relinquish the PROGRESS Women’s Championship, and the best of three series was declared.

Kanji picked up the first decision, with Shaw equalising in dubious fashion when she was holding the ropes for the decisive pinfall.

In an incredible final, Kanji managed to hit a springboard codebreaker followed by a runaround stunner to get the win.

Shaw had been owed a title shot since before the pandemic, however Kanji rose to the occasion when she won the first women’s ThunderBastard match.

The next Chapter has been announced as The Flowers Are Still Standing, and no doubt we will learn more about her first challenger when that airs.
