Having not wrestled for the company (in an American ring, at least) since February 2020, it would seem Yuka Sakazaki will finally be heading back to AEW next month.
Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, who Sakazaki has been wrestling for whilst back in Japan, have confirmed that she will be on a ‘US excursion’ in July.
Technically Sakazaki has competed for AEW in that time as she was part of the Women’s Championship Eliminator tournament back in January. All her matches for this took place in Japan.
Earlier this year Ryo Mizunami headed to the States to wrestle in the final of the tournament, and was joined by Maki Itoh.
Itoh instantly made an impression with the fans – and a very different one with Jim Cornette.
Hopefully Sakazaki’s return to AEW can have the same impact.
