Last night on IMPACT Wrestling, there was controversy surrounding an X-Division Championship match which has led to the announcement of a six-way scramble at Bound For Glory on 24th October.
Scott D’Amore confirmed the news to title-holder Rohit Raju after he lost to Jordynne Grace – but kept his belt on a technicality.
Last night’s issues started when Willie Mack tried to answer Raju’s ‘Defeat Rohit Open Challenge’, only to be reminded the challenge could only be answered by someone who he hadn’t already defended the X-Division Championship against.
Instead, Jordynne Grace surprised many by answering the challenge, and when the match started she rolled Raju up for the three count after he was distracted by Mack grabbing the belt from ringside.
Grace thought she had the title won, however Raju claimed that as the referee never had the chance to raise the title before the match it was never on the line.
This prompted IMPACT Executive D’Amore to confirmed the title defence for Bound For Glory, where Raju will face five competitors he’s had issues with of late – Grace, Mack, TJP, Chris Bey and Trey Miguel.
The card for Bound For Glory now stands as follows:
- IMPACT World Championship – Eric Young Vs Rich Swann
- Knockouts Championship – Deonna Purrazzo Vs Kylie Rae
- Tag Team Championships – The Motor City Machine Guns Vs Madman Fulton & Ace Austin Vs The Good Brothers Vs The North
- X-Division Championship – Rohit Raju Vs Jordynne Grace Vs Willie Mack Vs TJP Vs Chris Bey Vs Trey Miguel
