It’s all about grabbing the attention of wrestling fans, and WrestleMania season is primetime for WWE to do that.
The Raw after WrestleMania had a number of surprises, albeit maybe not as many or as substantial as in previous years, and it seems to have had an affect on their overall rating on USA Network.
According to figures obtained by PWInsider, last night’s Raw broke the 2 million viewer barrier for the first time since January.
It obtained an average audience of 2,026,000, up from 1,701,000 the week before.
The week-on-week rating in the 18-49 demographic also increased from 0.52 to 0.68.
The last episode to hit two million viewers was the edition of Raw on 4th January, which was billed as Legends Night which explains the increased attention it received.
WWE will hope that they did enough on the show that it won’t just be a one-night spike.
