On this week’s episode of the ‘Talk Is Jericho’ podcast, former AEW World Champion reveals he has previously been infected with COVID-19.
During his interview with guest Dr. Alex Patel, Jericho dropped the revelation that he tested positive for the disease back in September.
After conducting three tests, all positive, Jericho is certain that despite being wholly asymptomatic, he did contract the virus. He said:
I had zero symptoms,” Jericho said. “I spent my 10 days in isolation and stayed away from everybody. I didn’t have a symptom, I didn’t even know I had it. I went and got a test and they said I was positive. I was like, ‘Really? Are you serious?’.
Jericho appeared regularly on Dynamite throughout September. He wrestled with a gap of no more than eight days from the start of the month until 24th September. He then had a gap of thirteen days until his next appearance. It seems, therefore, that his diagnosis was at the end of the month.
Jericho was previously outspoken over his band Fozzy’s appearance at the Sturgis motorcycle rally in August. That event was blamed, without any true scientific proof, for over 250,000 COVID-19 infections in August and September. After defending the staging of the show, his attitude about the event being a potential ‘super-spreader’ situation was blasé, to say the least.
7 cases…out of 450,000 people???? https://t.co/1wcMI2ri5t— Chris Jericho (@IAmJericho) August 21, 2020
It’s great news that Jericho was physically unaffected by his bout with COVID-19. So many others have not been so lucky.
