‘The Icon’ Sting will make his return to in ring competition when he teams with Darby Allin to face Brian Cage and Ricky Starks at February’s AEW Revolution PPV.
Sting has not wrestled since he faced Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship at ‘Night Of Champions’ on September 20th 2015.
The former WCW Champion made his debut for the company at December’s special edition of Dynamite titled ‘Winter Is Coming’. Since then, he has been aligned on screen with Darby Allin in a slow burn of a conflict with Cage, Starks and the other members of Team Taz.
Revolution will take place on February 27th. The venue has not been confirmed. Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, AEW’s home base during the pandemic era is the assumed choice but recent rumours have suggested the company might look to temporarily move from the outdoor venue to another location in a warmer city in the south of Florida for the coldest winter months.
