Most wrestling fans are aware of mainstream boxing. Mike Tyson, Tyson Fury, Floyd Mayweather and more big name fighters have all appeared in a WWE ring. However, the Matchroom Boxing card staged in Uzbekistan on Easter Saturday is probably a little too niche for non-pugilistic diehards.
However there was a cool WWE influence on one aspect of the show, as undercard competitor Emmany Kalombo made his ringwalk to music which sampled the ominous and distinct trademark of a wrestling legend…
Gongs may be a pretty common sound effect, but that one is definitely the one used by WWE for the majority of The Undertaker’s various entrance themes throughout his 30 years of prominence.
UT, of course, announced his retirement from the ring last summer before making one final in-character appearance at Survivor Series on the 30th anniversary of his debut.
