Big Changes To WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match

WWE threw up some interesting updates to the Raw Elimination Chamber match on this week’s episode, including confirming the sixth entrant.

Elimination Chamber 2021

This week on Raw saw a number of big changes on the Raw side of Elimination Chamber. Not only is Lacey Evans out of her title match with Asuka, but we have a replacement competitor for the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship.

On Raw, The Miz voluntarily bowed out of the Elimination Chamber match, insinuating that rather than put himself through the punishment of the brutal match, he would lie in wait for the winner, ready to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase.

He suggested that his partner John Morrison took his place but WWE official Adam Pearce took umbrage with this as Morrison, who was absent from the show, didn’t meet the criteria of being a former WWE Champion.

Miz pointed out that although that was true, he was a former ECW Champion which should qualify him. Pearce agreed to the compromise of putting Miz in with a match against Kofi Kingston, with the winner of the match determining who would take the vacant place in the chamber.

As it transpired, Kingston took the victory and he will slot into that final position on Sunday alongside WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy and Sheamus.

Talking of Sheamus, we now know that he will take the coveted 6th entry position in the match. This came as a result of him winning a gauntlet match on Raw against his fellow entrants with the final spot on the line.
