AEW Women’s Title Match Set For Dynamite Postponed Due To COVID Concerns

Britt Baker vs Thunder Rosa will no longer take place on AEW New Year’s Smash, and has been replaced with a new title match.

Thunder Rosa

One match originally scheduled for the second night of AEWs New Year’s Smash on 13th January has been called off for now.

Britt Baker Vs Thunder Rosa won’t take place as planned next week due to COVID isolation.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Baker has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Meltzer goes on to say that the match will happen at some point but obviously there’s no date set.

A replacement match was announced on Dynamite this week which will see Serena Deeb defending the NWA Women’s Championship against Tay Conti.

Britt Baker will still be on the show on the 13th January, but instead of a match she’ll be bringing her Waiting Room interview segment to Dynamite and her guest will be Cody Rhodes.

You can see all the announced matches on our AEW’s New Year’s Smash page!
