On this week’s episode of Dynamite, Paul Wight made his AEW Debut to talk about his new role as what we still like to call a ‘Broadcast Journalist’ on AEW’s new YouTube series ‘AEW Dark: Elevation’.
As part of his debut, he broke the news that a new name has signed with AEW and will be debuting on Sunday’s Revolution PPV.
With the wrestling world abuzz with who the mystery debutant could be, Tony Khan appeared on AEW’s ‘Unrestricted‘ podcast this week and seriously doubled down on the calibre of name that fans should expect. Khan said:
“A major star in the world of wrestling—a huge, huge star—is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW on Sunday at the Pay-Per-View. So I can confirm what Paul [Wight] said is true.”
The AEW President has been lampooned on a number of occasions for his tendency to over-inflate the importance of upcoming announcements to the point that many fans are taking a boy-who-cried-wolf position on the latest promise.
One thing is certain, it will not take long to reveal the truth as the mystery talent will be unveiled at Sunday’s PPV.
