Report: AEW Commentator Excalibur Was Pulled From Dynamite Despite Being In Town

Excalibur was replaced by Taz on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, and although there is no confirmation on reason why it seems he was in Jacksonville ready for the show.

There was a change to the usual commentary lineup on AEW Dynamite last night, as Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone were joined by occasional broadcast team member Taz.

The manager of FTW Champion Brian Cage replaced usual third-man Excalibur, although no reference has since been made as to why.

However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Excalibur was present in the building before being pulled from the show. Dave Meltzer said:

“I know he made it to Florida, but he wasn’t used. I don’t know if it’s like Sammy Guevara where he’s suspended for 30 days off or longer, or even if he’s not going to be used. I don’t know the answers yet.”

In recent days there has been a video circulating with Excalibur using a racial slur in a PWG promo from a number of years ago, however there is no confirmation that this is the reason for his removal from Dynamite.
