1988 – A one night tournament for vacant NWA United States Championship was held in Houston, Texas. Barry Windham took the title with a win in the final over Nikita Koloff.

1994 – Despite never having successfully hit an offensive move, never mind getting a win, Mikey Whipwreck shocked ECW by winning the Television Championship from Pitbull #1 (Gary Wolfe) at a TV taping in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The win came again without Whipwreck hitting any offense. At the start of the match, Wolfe was distracted by The Tazmaniac and he was rolled up by Whipwreck.

1995 – ECW ‘Enter The Sandman’ took place at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the event, The Sandman successfully defended the ECW World Championship twice, first against Cactus Jack and the Shane Douglas.

2002 – Hulk Hogan retained the WWE Undisputed Title against Ric Flair in a No Disqualification match on WWE Raw from Toronto.  This was surprisingly the only televised singles match that Hogan and Flair had in the WWE. In the main event (Yes, a title match between Hogan and Flair was not the final match on the TV card!) ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin defeated Booker T in a Lumberjack Match. Also on the card, Trish Stratus won the WWE Women’s Championship in a mixed tag-team match when her and Bubba Ray Dudley defeated Steven Richards and Jazz with both the women’s title and Dudley’s Hardcore Title on the line.
