On This Day In Wrestling History…21st March

On 21st March in wrestling history, a 10 man tag team match that was supposed to happen at WrestleMania X took place on Monday Night Raw.

1994 – The night after WrestleMania X, Monday Night Raw tapings took place at the Manhattan Center. At the tapings, a ten man tag occured that was originally scheduled for WrestleMania but was cut at the last moment due to time constraints. The match saw The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), Jeff Jarrett, IRS and ‘The Model’ Rick Martel defeat The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart), The 1-2-3 Kid, Tatanka and Sparky Plugg.

1998 – The Slammy Awards took place at the Weston Hotel in Chicago. This was the last occurence of the awards until 2008.

2000 – ECW’s Living Dangerously PPV took place at the Convention Center in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The main event saw FTW Champion Taz defeat ECW Champion Sabu to unify the two titles.

2010 – TNA Destination X took place at The Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida. The main event saw AJ Styles defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Abyss. The match went to a no contest after interference from Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Desmond Wolfe.

2017 – At a SmackDown taping in Uncasville, Connecticut, Jimmy and Jey Uso defeated American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
